THE REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO TAKE THIS COURSE ARE:

• A deep love for animals & lots of patience.

• An area you can set up to groom dogs. A laundry room, a garage, basement, bathroom or even a friends home.

• You need a tub of some kind, table, noose, crate, blow dryer,  shampoo, grooming tools etc. Information on where you can buy wholesale grooming supplies is included

• You need a camera to take before and after photos for your reports.

 course accreditation I can not find legislation requiring trade schools to be accredited.
Trade schools train you for a career to start you in business and not for academic achievement.
Students receive a certificate of graduation. This is equal to a diploma.
If you would like to have an additional certificate from the Summit University of Louisiana you can to so.
A lot of students consider this as it gives more documentation of your education. It is an addition fee of $300.00.

2. Shop setup and clever ways to make your shop more productive as well as a safe place for the pet and for you to work in.
3. Cat bathing, nail clipping, grooming, and safety measure you need to know.
4. Bow making instructions show you the fine art of making bows, including ears   bows, collar bows and bow ties.
5. Bathing short cuts, protecting the dog and safety measure you need to know.
6. Empting anal sacs, when is it a medical issue, and safety measure you need to know.
7. Handling fear and cage biters, the correct way to protect yourself as and the pet. 
8. Nail clipping, learning the difference in dew claws, how to cut them and safety measure you need to know.
9. Ear cleaning, when to pluck the hair from the ear canal, ear care, and safety measure you need to know.
10. Personal one on one training!

The most common worry of potential students seems to be the hands on experience. After you groom you first dog, you will see it is up hill from there.

When I first started grooming the worst for me was cutting nails. I would shake so badly that my knees actually knocked against each other. I was afraid that awful feeling would never go away. But it did and I don't give a second though about it now.

There are many grooming books on the market; the problem is they assume you already understand the fundamentals of grooming therefore making it impossible for the novice to thoroughly understand grooming
techniques. These books great for references once you have learned professional grooming, but they will not teach you to groom.

My correspondence Hands off - Hands on program provides one-on-one training, and allows the student to progress at his or her own speed The comprehensive training program provides 300 hours (6-12 weeks), of
unique and thorough instruction, giving students the knowledge and skills necessary to groom all breeds of dogs and cats.
 

The illustrations and diagrams assist in your learning, and educational video aids are included tin the grooming package. The illustrations, and diagrams are unlike anything available on the market today. They make grooming easy to understand and follow. New groomers love the workbook diagrams as much as the novice does.

When you have completed this fantastic program, you will be the professional groomer you knew you could be! And you will  have a handsome Certificate Of Gradation to hang on your wall.
 

This training program consisting of nine easy to understand lessons. Open book tests and final written examination that must be at least 90% accurate to receive the Certificate Of Gradation. Although rare..... No additional fees are charged for retaking tests or written examination.
